Strawberry Banana Milkshake

We went to the weekly farmers market downtown today, and picked up a container of spring strawberries. I like local fruit better than grocery store fruit. It’s smaller, more flavorful, and it supports farmers in my region. I am a big proponent of the local foods movement, but I can elaborate on that later. Let’s get on to the smoothie recipe.

RECIPE: Strawberry Banana Smoothie
Makes 4 Servings

SUPPLIES NEEDED:
Blender
Two Cups
Strawberry Corer

INGREDIENTS:
Strawberries
Banana
IceIMG_0661
Milk
Sugar

DIRECTIONS:
1)
Core about a cup of strawberries.
2) Throw the banana in the bottom of the blender, topped with ice, strawberries, and skim milk.
3) I sprinkled some sugar into the mix because early strawberries aren’t quite a sweet as those later in the season.
4) Blend and adjust until the perfect consistency.
